Worlds of Fun LogoKANSAS CITY, Mo. – While parent company Cedar Fair Entertainment is considering options to possibly sell Worlds of Fun & Oceans of Fun, rest assured, the Midwest’s premier entertainment destination is here to stay. In 2009, Worlds of Fun is investing in its future with a new $8 million block-buster ride and VIP perks for loyal Season Pass holders.


Helping families combat the tough economy, Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are also offering guests an opportunity to be Gold Pass holders this season for an unprecedented price. The Gold Pass includes admission to both parks and parking all season, plus daily VIP perks like early entry to the park and buffet meal specials. Gold Passes are on sale for only $99.99 through April 17, 2009, at worldsoffun.com.

Worlds of Fun is open weekends starting Saturday, April 18, 2009, and daily starting Saturday, May 9, 2009 (closed Friday, May 15, 2009). Oceans of Fun is open daily starting Saturday, May 23, 2009. Worlds of Fun Village RV sites, cabins, and cottages are open through mid November, 2009.

Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun are owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “FUN.” In addition to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun, Cedar Fair owns and operates 10 other amusement parks, five other waterparks, one indoor waterpark resort, and five hotels. Cedar Fair also operates Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park in Gilroy, California, under a management contract.
